Police and Chang’aa traders clash, burn down school

A section of Mathare illicit brew traders who were protesting police operations against illicit brew have burned down a school in the area.

The exchange between the traders and the police along Juja road left  Maji Mazuri primary school in ashes though the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

Reports indicate that a number of pupils were injured in the scuffle between the police and the protesters.

The protesters had taken to the streets after police raided their chang’aa dens on Monday.

The protesters engaged police on the busy Juja Road for the better part of Wednesday morning
