Pastor James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelist Church will be arraigned in court on Monday after he was arrested for threatening Citizen TV journalist Linus Kaikai.

Pastor Ng’ang’a was picked up from his church at the junction of Haile Selassie Avenue and Uhuru Highway on Sunday night and locked up at Muthaiga Police Station.

The vocal pastor was arrested after Kaikai filed a complaint against him, stating that he felt threatened following a video footage that pastor Ng’a ng’a shared on social media attacking him.

The row started after Kaikai, who is a panelist on the News Gang show, called for regulation of pastors who he referred to as spiritual fraudsters profiting off unsuspecting Kenyans.

“We are dealing with thieves, not men of God. These are cold blooded evangelical vampires living off the blood of their flock in the name of Jesus. They are con-men who must have their date with our police and our law courts,” said Kaikai

In a response video on Facebook, Pastor Ng’ang’a calling himself a Chief General Commander threatened unexplained consequences believed to be directed at Kaikai.

“Wewe kijana wachana na mambo zako… na kama umeingia laini ya Pastor Ng’ang’a, my friend you will face the consequences…wewe utakimbia tu (Young man, stop your nonsense. If you’ve decided to cross Pastor Ng’ang’a’s line, my friend you will face the consequences. You will have to run),” he said
