Passengers preparing themselves to go for the Christmas festivities this season are stranded at the various bus stops in the city following hiked fare prices and lack of matatus.

Our tour in various bus stops in Nairobi city has revealed that most passengers are stranded at the bus stops after buses hiked their prices from an average of Kshs. 1000 to Ksh. 1400.

The passengers further say that there are no available buses to ferry them to their destinations.

Some of those who spoke to Ghetto Radio have been waiting from as early as 8 PM with transporters telling them that they have to wait until 2 PM.

Most of the passengers are headed to places like Kitale, Kakamega and Kisii.

The passengers have also lamented that the available vehicles are not ferrying them to the desired locations rather leaving them halfway on their journey.
