Parents have flooded the Registrar of Persons office in Nairobi to apply for birth certificates for their children to beat the ministry of Education deadline.

Parents queueing outside the Registrar of Persons Office are decrying the slow process by the officials.

The parents led by Maendeleo ya Wanaume Chariman Nderitu Njoka say they are being turned away by the officials who are only serving their personal interests.

They now want the office of Civil Registry to start operating on Saturdays as well for them to meet the 30th March deadline.

The government last week extended the registration of learners on the National Education Management Information System to March 31
