Over 500 gambling machines were on Friday burnt in Jericho area following a crackdown that was done by the police in Makadara constituency.
Speaking at the Camp Toyoyo grounds Nairobi Regional Commissioner Robinson Thuku who presided over the exercise sounded a stern warning to those perpetrating the vice in Nairobi ,saying they will be arrested and machines destroyed.
Thuku blamed parents and the society for allowing school going children and even youths to engage in early gambling.
‘‘We want to warn those with gambling machines that we will destroy them and owners brought to book ,’’ Thuku said.
He further stated that Foreigners found assembling illegal gambling machines in the country will be deported for engaging in crime.
