Otile Brown fires shots at Bongo artistes as he turns down AFRIMMA nomination
Kenyan RnB star Otile Brown has fired a subtle shot at Bongo stars as he turned down his AFRIMMA nomination.
AFRIMMA unveiled the 2020 the 2020 nominees six days ago ahead of the award ceremony set for later in the year.
Otile Brown has been nominated under the category of best male artistes East Africa alongside Khaligraph Jones, Rayvanny, Harmonize, Diamond Platnumz among others.
The ‘Dusuma’ hit maker took to Instagram to decline the nomination saying awards do not define his career.
He also took a swipe at bongo stars pointing out that the AFRIMMA management should only nominate artistes who’ve named themselves after animals.
“Afrima bado wana ni nomineting’i…always count me out y’all….nominate hao wasanii wanajiita wanyama….it’s not my style.” He said
In a separate post, Otile Brown said he lost hope on award ceremonies when one once asked him to pay for his own ticket then he will be sure to bag the award.
“A while back I was called by some award show and guaranteed a win if I paid for my flight expenses to attend the award ceremony..That is when my team and I cancelled story za awards. Some artistes do that but I can never do such a thing. I’m true to myself.” Otile said
This is not the first time Otile Brown is turning down an AFRIMMA nomination.
