One person has reportedly died and six others admitted in hospital with cholera like symptoms in Muradi Embakasi  East Constituency area.

The seven year old child reportedly died yesterday evening at local hospital called Blitz.

The victims reportedly fell ill between 9 PM last night and 10 AM today morning.

The Kenya Red Cross Society is currently in Muradi area in Embakasi conducting sensitization on how people can prevent cholera.

Meanwhile residents of Tassia estate are lamenting burst sewer lines that have caused a health hazard in the area.

The residents claim that the burst sewer lines have been caused by the heavy rains that have pounded the city recently.

The residents claim the situation has put them at the risk of contacting waterbone diseases like cholera.

Apart from posing as a health hazard, the situation has rendered many roads impassable as sewer water flows freely on most of them.
