Former Kothbiro champions Nyoi FC have reinforced their team for this year’s edition by enlisting the services of a Liberian international player.

Christian Nagbe will be making a debut on Sunday for Nyoi FC in a derby against Wenyeji FC, saying he is excited to be in the country to play football especially in a tournament with a rich history as Kothbiro.

“Am excited to be in Kenya participating in the 41st edition of the Kothbiro tournament where players have been discovered by teams in the Kenyan premier league enabling them to scale their talents to the next level.” Said Christian

The Liberian international has previously represented his under 20 national team in 2011 and also he has played for Cheetahs in the Ghanian league.

Christian says his dream is to play in the Kenyan Premier League as the league is competitive and it presents a good opportunity for players who want to play at the international stage.

“Am already pursuing my dream of trying to play in the Kenyan Premier League having attended Tusker FC trials where I was selected among the top 5 out of the 300 hundred people who had showed up. This was such a boost to my quest of playing top level football in Kenya.” Christian said

Nyoi FC is among the teams with a rich history in the tournament with Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama playing for them in 2015 when they clinched that editions tittle and also Harambee Stars forward Michael Olunga
