Hundreds of residents of Nyama villa in Kayole’s Nairobi area spent a second day in the cold as demolitions continued.

The demolition of the buildings is linked to a land tussle between two private owners.

The demolition is being conducted under the heavy presence of police officers drawn from the Kayole Police Station.

A section of politicians from Nairobi have tried to protest the demolition to no success.

The protest saw area MP Meja Donk arrested on Tuesday and arraigned in court over incitement of residents.

He was however released on a cash bail of Ksh. 500,000.

Nairobi Women representative Esther Passaris also condemned the demolitions saying it was being conducted in an inhumane way.
