The Kenya National Union of nurses has opposed plans by the government to deduct more National Health Insurance Fund cover from employees who earn bigger salaries.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio News KNUN Secretary general Seth Panyako says the move is ill-advised  and that no citizen should carry the  responsibility of health-care except the government.

Early this week Deputy president  William Ruto said the government will now go for top earners for further NHIF deductions.

Panyako wants a quick stakeholder meeting to discuss the matter before its implementation.

He asked the government to utilize what they collect annually in the NHIF scheme  a move he say will ensure, better and affordable healthcare in the country .
