Nurses defy Uhuru’s return to work order

The government has now declared the nurses in contempt of court after they defied orders from president Uhuru to return to work.

Cabinet secretary for for labour Ukur Yatani said the nurses will face contempt of court charges after failing to report to work by Friday as was orderd.

”the nurses are in contempt of court order issued on 5 February which ordered the union bosses to end the hostility in the strike and return to work.”said Yettani

The CS added that all the nurses who had not returned to work by friday would face  discplinary action.

President Kenyatta on Wednesday ordered all nurses to return to work early Friday morning failure to which the government will take action against them.

The nurses have been on strike from the 4th of February agitating for the government to honour the implimentation of the agreement which they signed in 2017 to return back to work in which they were to receive better allowances and get more money for uniform.
