Nairobi men afraid of getting tested for HIV/Aids

The number of men getting tested for HIV/Aids virus in Nairobi County is low as compared to that of women.

This is according to a research done by the Nairobi County Health Department.

Nairobi County Health Promotion Coordinator Lilian Mutua says most of the mean are shying away from getting testing for fear of being stigmatized.

According to Mutua the report has informed the county’s decision to adopt a Mwanaume Jipime Campaign to encourage men to come out and know their HIV/Aids status ahead of the World Aids Day.

The campaign dubbed Mwanaume Jipime Campaign is also aimed are reducing the levels of HIV/Aids infections.
