Even as Nairobi International trade fair opens today at Jamhuri Show Ground , low turn out has been witnessed a move that’s is now becoming a norm contrary to expectations and what the event was known about some ten years back.
We sought to reach out Nairobi residents on their feelings about this event and to our surprise majority are not even aware about it contrary to what happened in the past where it was taken with seriousness it deserved.
‘‘Early days, Nairobi trade show used to be advertised two months before date and many people used to be prepared financially to attend, but nowadays living standard has gone high, entrance fee is high too and it is expensive to access most of events due to fee charged.’’ One of the residents told Ghetto Radio News.
Although majority wish to attend, they are claiming that they do not have money and that is not possible to leave their daily hustles to go and spend instead.
They however, request that dates are announced in advance for better preparation next year.
It offers opportunities for regional, continental and global exhibitors to display and demonstrate their services and products. It also offers show visitors an opportunity to meet interact and exchange ideas and experiences.
