Nairobi county will carry out a Measles campaign in Kamukunji area Eastleigh after cases of the diseases were reported
According to Lilian Mutua, Helth promotion officer Nairobi county,the county has decided to launch the campaign in Kamukunji area,Eastleigh as it’s the area with most reported cases.
The infections have been attributed to the large movements of people coming from Mandera county where the first measles case was reported.
“Parents in these areas should allow their children to be vaccinated because the disease does not have a cure and should also be on the look out for signs like a lot of rashes on the skin,high fever,a running nose and also red eyes.” She said
The campaign is expected to last for 5 days starting from the 14th of Decmber to the 18th
Nairobi County statistics report that close to 239 suspected cases of measles have been detected these resulting after atleast two people in Mandera county succumbed to the disease in the month of October
