Nairobi county government has this morning demolished buildings and illegal structures at riverside Kariokor.
The buildings and structures demolished are those constructed less than 20 meters from Nairobi River following a NEMA assessment.
The demolitions have been going on for more than two weeks now, with a two storey building having been demolished more than one week ago.
The county officials say demolition of structures built on river banks would continue in a bid to ensure rivers were protected.
Meanwhile, shack owners condemned the demolition blaming the county for lack of proper notice to vacate.
