NACADA sounds alarm over high rate of drug abuse in schools

Almost 40 percent of students in Secondary School in the country engage in alcohol and drug abuse.

This according to a survey conducted by the National Campaign Against Drug Abuse.

The survey further stated that 18.5 percent of the students engage in alcohol abuse, 8.1 percent of the students engage in tobacco, and 6.3 percent of them engage in Bhang.

NACADA Chairman Julius Githiri urged the young people to take responsibility of their age and shun drug abuse.

Githiri says NACADA has partnered with all stakeholders especially the media to ensure the message against drug abuse is spread correctly.
