Addressing mourners at State Funeral Service Nyayo Stadium ,Gideon praised Moi’s skill in handling family issues.
‘‘At one one point he had bought a new car and as a young man then i could not resist the temptation to take it for a spin unfortunately my driving skills could not much my enthusiasm and the car was no more, i formulated a cunning idea and entered his room with a Bible, My father who heard the accident look at me broke into laughter and that was the end of the story,’’Gideon narrated.
He further revealed how Mzee loved ‘nyama’ and could defy doctors instruction and enjoy his favourite.
“My father had a love for nyama . I remember telling him the doctor has refused it, but he answered back , ‘unaona daktari hapa?’ Nothing came between him and his meat,” he said.
Gideon’s revelations are contrary to reports that Moi only ate Kienyeji vegetables and drunk a lot of mursik hence his long life.
