The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is pursuing Mlango Kubwa MCA Patricia Mutheu over links with an alleged militia group.
Mutheu is pursued together with two other MCA’s to shed more light on the Sonko Defence Force.
In a letter addressed to Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko, the DCI wants Sonko to help summon Mutheu, Waithaka Ward MCA Anthony Kiragu Karanja and Nominated MCA Ruth Ndumi over the matter.
“This office is conducting an investigation into the alleged existence of a militia by the name Sonko Defence Force. To this end, this office would like to request your good offices’ assistance in summoning the under mentioned honourables so that they may shed light on what they know about the alleged militia,” read the letter dated 7th June2019.
Sonko has however dismissed the summons describing them as acts of intimidation.
The governor has swung to the defence of the three MCAs saying an unnamed official in the government is using the MCAs to get to him.
“He should know that no amount of intimidation shall ever stop me and the County Assembly Members from exercising their democratic rights,” said Sonko.
Sonko further the DCI to direct its energy to arresting goons who are harassing and raping innocent citizens.
