The Nairobi County Assembly has rejected the nomination of lawyer Miguna Miguna as Governor Mike Sonko’s Deputy.

The MCAs argued that Miguna’s nomination contravenes article 78 of the constitution which does not allow a State Officer to have dual Citizenship.

Sonko forwarded Miguna’s name to the Nairobi County Assembly Speaker on May 18 for vetting and approval.

Mihuna’s nomination caused an uproar across the country with a section of Jubilee leaders vowing to block the name.
