Migori Senatorial by elections started early Monday morning with a low voter turn out being witnessed in some of the polling stations.
The seat fell vacant in June this year following the death of Ben Oluoch Okello who succumbed to cancer.
Six candidates have expressed interest in the seat with the main candidates being ODM’s Ochillo Ayacko and 27 year old Eddy Oketch of Federal Party.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga last week camped in Migori campaigning for Ayacko who in 2017 vied for the gubernatorial seat and lost to Governor Okoth Obado.
Eddy Oketch is Governor Okoth Obado’s ally who has equally amassed strength.
