Migori Governor Okoth Obado surrenders to EACC
Migori Governor Okoth Obado has presented himself to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in Kisii.
Obado has presented himself for questioning after DPP Nordin Haji authorized his arrest over the loss of Ksh. 73 Million public funds.
Obado arrived at the EACC offices at around 7am in the company of nine other suspects wanted in the probe.
They are presently being grilled and are expected to be arraigned in court afterwards.
Haji on Tuesday evening authorized the arrest of Obado after finishing an analysis of Obado’s file that was presented to him from the EACC.
According to the DPP, Ksh.34,525,000 was used to purchase a house in Loresho Ridge for the governor’s daughter Evelyne Adhiambo Zachary.
Another Ksh.38,949,376.90 was wired to accounts held by Governor Obado’s children, Achola Dan Okoth, Susan Scarlet Okoth and Jerry Zachary Okoth.
