Migori Governor makes first public address on Sharon Otieno’s murder

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has said he had nothing to do with the brutal murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

The governor made his first remarks to the press ss on Wednesday afternoon.

His press briefing comes just a day after he had a lengthy grilling at the Nyanza DCI offices.

“As a law abiding citizen, I want to state here very clearly that I have nothing… and absolutely nothing… to do with the cruel death of Sharon,” he said

Thegovernor went on to send his condolences to the family of Sharon together with her friends while calling on authorities to speed up investigations.

“On my behalf, and on the behalf of my family, I want to send my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Sharon,” And I want to urge all our government agencies that are mandated with investigations to speed up their work so that the real killers can be brought to book as fast as possible.” He added

He urged the media to give the agencies a chance to do their job.

“I want to call upon politicians and the media to avoid medieval punishment and proclamations so that our agencies that are charged with investigations are given time to do their job” he said

The Governor who made just a brief address was flanked by his wife and two children.
