Safaricom PLC has appointed former Chief Executive Michael Joseph as the interim CEO following the demise of Bob Collymore.
Joseph was appointed during a special board meeting that was held yesterday after Collymore’s death.
A press release by Safaricom states that Joseph will hold the position until the board communicates its due course on a permanent basis.
“The board is confident that during this transition, Mr. Joseph will provide the necessary guidance and leadership to the company and its employees,” read the statement.
Joseph is currently the chairman of the Kenya Airways board and also a board member at Safaricom.
