Two young men from Nairobi’s Umoja area are in the process of building a Kenya’s first ever water plane in a bid to curb the transport challenge being faced by individuals using the water transport
Edwin Omondi and his brother Reagan Odhiambo say the water plane is built almost the same way an aeroplane is built but only that it will be used on water and not air.
Omondi who is an engineer by profession, says the dream was triggered by a visit to Migingo Island where he saw a woman and her child being rained on when crossing over to the other side of the road.
According to Odhiambo, the boat which they aim finishing in the next four months will be fitted with digital communication system that the pilot will use to communicate with his passengers.
The boys require about 3.5 millions shillings to complete the project and are calling for support from well wishers to assist.
