Matiang’I vows to take action against Gakuyo’s Ekeza Sacco

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’I has vowed to take action against Sacco leaders scamming the public.

The CS was making a reference in line with the embattled Ekeza Sacco which has been making headlines adding that the ministry is already in the process of prosecuting the Sacco’s directors.

“We will take action against Ekeza Sacco directors accused of looting money belonging to the members of the Sacco using it for their own benefit. We are warning Sacco’s looting money that members of the public have struggled to save to secure their future. The full wrath of the law will fall on them.” Said Matiang’i

The government revoked Ekeza Sacco’s license for sharing their office space with Gakuyo real estate.

The owner ‘Bishop’ Dr.David Gakuyo being accused of embezzling Sacco funds.

Speaking during the annual delegates meeting of the Kenya Police Sacco, Matiang’i further urged police officers to practice the culture of saving to boost their financial status.

“Saving with Sacco’s will enable police officers be financially stable enabling them to depend on themselves by promoting better use of their money and this will help to reduce the numerous cases of bribes reported against police officers as financial stability will make sure officers do not engage in petty crimes. “Said Matiang’i

The Police Sacco currently boasts of a total 63,109 members of which 55,035 are active savers.
