The Matatu Owners Association is now blaming traffic police officers manning roadblocks over the Gilgil accident that claimed 20 lives on Saturday.
Matatu Owners Association Chairman Simon Kimutai says officers are busy collecting bribes instead of enforcing the law.
Kimutai has further asked NTSA to give Saccos power to train drivers and conductors
NTSA’s preliminary investigations into the ill fated Western bound bus indicate that the crash was as a result of reckless overtaking at a descent.
National Transport and Safety Authority Director General Francis Meja said the bus was suspended by the Super Highway Sacco on April 18, 2017 for flouting traffic rules.
