Matatu operators have called on Nairobi governor Mike Sonko to ban private cars from accessing the Central Business District (CBD)
The operators led by matatu owner’s association chairperson Jimal Ibrahim, say that the private cars are the number one cause of trafick within the CBD.

“It’s not only matatus that are causing traffic in Nairobi, Even personal vehicles. The governor should either ban personal vehicles or hike the parking fee charges so as to reduce them from the CBD.” He said
He also denied allegations that certain matatu operators that were not included in the committee to remove matatus from the CBD.
