Makongeni, Kaloleni residents given eviction notice

The Nairobi County Government has given a five day ultimatum to Makongeni, Kaloleni and Mbotela residents with mabati house extensions to vacate.

Worried residents who spoke to ghetto radio news expressed concern over the short notice that requires them to vacate before 1st of August.

They intimate that the power company wants to connect high voltage power in the areas affected hence need for the demolitions.

Resident Joseph Chad says the mabati houses were a source of income to many youth in the area who were unemployed wondering what would befall them next.

Thas further warned residents that failure to comply with the ultimatum would result in forcible eviction.
