Mwamba’s Winger Sinaida Aura will be making a comeback to the Rugby Women’s Squad departing for the HSBC World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series finale in Clermont-Ferrand, France, on 28-29 May.
Aura who missed the Hong Kong Sevens is returning after she went through a knee surgery .
Women’s Rugby Head Coach Shamia also gave a calling to Nakuru’s Josephine Adhiambo who will be making her debut to the Women’s Rugby National team.
Speaking during the naming of the squad at the RFUEA Ground Shamia stated that he believes in the two players,Josephine and Sinaida will be able to deliver.
“I believe they will come out and play well.Sinaida’s ball handling skills are fantastic.Josephine Adhiambo was the best player in women’s League and I believe if she plays the way she did she will have a good day out there” Shamia said.
The Lionesses will be making their first ever appearence at the HSBC World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series after being invited to take part in the final round of the 2015/16 season slated for France on the weekend.
The Women’s Sevens who will be playing against England, Spain and USA in pool A will use the tournament as part of their preparations for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games that get underway in August..
Shamia however admitted the game will be tough but expressed his delightment saying the competitions in paris will be a an interesting plartform .
“It’s an interesting pool,tough in a way but we need to start gauging ourselves with the big girls of the game.This way we will be able to see how our girls adopt”.
