Learning paralysed in 31 universities as lecturers down tools

Learning in more than 31 public universities has been paralysed following nation-wide lecturers strike that commenced officially today.

University Academic Staff Union  Secretary General  Constantine Wasonga says no lecturer will step in a classroom until they negotiate sign and register the 2017-2021  collective bargaining agreement CBA.

In the CBA lecturers want better salaries, employment of more lecturers among other issues affecting them adressed.

The union chairman Muga Kolale  further faulted  education  cabinet secretary Amina Mohamed for not giving them audince to resolve the matter.

Last year  dons went on strike three times demanding an increase of their allowance and salaries.
