Just like any other profession, journalism has it Do’s and Don’t s as well as myths surrounding the career path.
Radio guys however, have an advantage over our TV fellows…..there is not so much expectations from the public and our employers regarding how we dress.
Top screen personalities however are known to be trend setters and the public expect them to dress in nothing other than carefully selected designer regalia. Anchors on the other hand are always expected to look sharp in official or smart casual for the sake of maintaining a positive outlook of their respective employers.
However, in the recent past, we have seen that culture slowly fading away. Last week K24 News Anchor Yusuf was exposed badly by a colleague for reading news in a pair of jeans and sports shoes.
A week later, Larry Madowo has involuntarily found himself on the receiving end for hosting Martin Kirathe whilst dressed in shorts and sandals.
What many people don’t know is that the programme was shot from Mombasa and it is more likely that’s why he went for the look.
Whilst a greater number of Kenyans took a negative troll on the eloquent anchor and NTV host, a section has taken a lighter note on it and decided to start a #LarryMadowoChallenge.
Check out the photos below and let us know what you think on the comment box. Do you approve the look or is it trashy???
I think he is just fine.
