Kenya has lost 21 billion shillings through cyber crime in the year 2017 making a landmark record of 30% increase compared to 2016.
This is according to a report released today by Cyber security firm Serianu in collaboration with ministry of defense.
Speaking at the event Defence cabinet secretary Rachael Omamo says the crime is mainly rampant among financial organization and in other instances criminals fleecing unsuspected individuals.
She is now asking youths to be more conversant with issues of cyber crime to protect themselves from conman-ship and bullying .
Meanwhile parliament is yet to pass Cyber crime Bill 2013 that intends to curb the vice.
