Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT has faulted the move by ministry of education to bar  secondary headteachers from admitting form ones directly.

In an exclusive interview with Ghetto Radio News the union’s chairman Wycliffe Etole Omucheyi says the  directive will  demoralize  secondary heads as they are considered real managers of given schools.

‘‘Am a teacher and I’ve taught for so many years, you feel better a s teacher when you teach or see a student whom you participated fully in his or her in-take, and therefore denying school headteachers’ a hand in the form one intake and admission is not right.’’  He said.

The ministry ordered admission of all form ones  at extra-county,provincial and national schools to be done through National Education Management Information System (NEMIS)  that is controlled from Joggo House.

Meanwhile form one admission has hit day three with the process moving on smoothly countrywide.L
