The Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT has faulted Teachers Service Commission over what it terms as not telling the country the truth on why the union officials and the commission failed to reach an agreement at the retreat.
In an exclusive interview with Ghetto Radio News KNUT Deputy Secretary General Hezborn Otieno said they did not walk out of the meeting but differed with TSC after the commission refused to withdraw the delocalization policy on teachers.
According to Hezborn they all agreed that they add TSC another two weeks to go and rethink over the same and communicate their decision to the union.
‘‘TSC is panicking we did not walk out of the meeting , TSC vice chairperson is the one who proposed we give them two weeks and i seconded,’’ Hezoborn stated.
TSC yesterday sent a press release to newsrooms accusing KNUT officials from demanding fresh and special treatment.
KNUT is banking on presidential directive to TSC reconsideration of delocalization policy and staff appraisals policy.
Meanwhile parents are not happy with the renewed tag of war and strike threats between TSC and KNUT as national examination beckons.
