A middle aged woman’s body is being held at the Kenyatta National Hospital over unpaid hospital bill.

Dorcas Akinyi a mother of one was hospitalized at the hospital for more than two months after she suffered third degree burns from a house fire.

Akinyi’s brother David Ochieng says KNH has refused to release her sister’s body after the hospital bill accrued to 374,000 shillings.

The body has been lying in the hospital’s mortuary for three weeks now.

Ochieng’s attempt to seek help from area MP TJ Kajwang have been unfruitful. The MP has only referred them to social workers instead.

They are now appealing to well wishers to support them in offsetting the hospital bills on 0715046807.
