The Independent Policing Oversight Authority IPOA  now says the family of  Melvin Ochieng alias Fwedege who was killed last week by a police officer  at Jua Kali area in Embakasi have not filed an official complaint to the  authority making it difficult to probe  the murder.

According to IPOA, it’s prudent that the family reports officially and  must be willing to provide them with all they know about the death of their kin to facilitates  investigations.

The area residents claims that Fwedege was killed by a known police man who  had ‘problems’ with him and and the slain youth  was not a robber as  earlier alleged.

‘‘They   quarreled over food before a scuffled ensued between him and others who were at the place of his death and it was at that moment that  a neighbor rang  a police officer who came immediately and shot him twice,’’ Witness narrated to Ghetto Radio News.

Meawnwhile  Embakasi   police boss  Ochieng’ Mirangi maintains that Fwedege  was a robber and they have been pursuing him together with  two other people who escaped.
