Matatu Owners Association has come out to hit out some of its members who yesterday said they are defecting from association as it is run by cartels.

According to the chairman Simon Kimutai those making the statement were disgruntled members who were not involved in some policies hence their decision opting to walk out of the association.

According to Kimutai the association cannot prevent them from defecting because choosing to stay is voluntary and cannot be forced on anybody.

The operators have also condemned the defectors for calling them cartels stating that they conduct legal businesses and contribute to the country’s economy at the same time providing service to the citizens.
