Singer Kidum was rushed to the hospital on Monday March 26th after he was poisoned during his visit to his home country, Burundi.
The singer was in Burundi to perform at the La Francophone concert held on Saturday, March 24 at the University of Bujumbura.
It is however not clear where and when exactly the singer was poisoned. Kidum announced on social media that he was in hospital after someone poisoned him.
“I am now being taken to hospital with my friends . Whoever did this is trying to eliminate an innocent soul. I am covered with the blood of Jesus . my enemies ! You will never succeed . if I die thousands kidums will come up and still continue my mission,” he wrote.
The ‘nitafanya’ hit maker revealed that the poison had affected his kidneys saying that he had been discharged from the hospital earlier but was brought back because he was too weak to travel back to Nairobi.
“I was about to be discharged but the hospital has just changed that decision because they have just discovered that the poison has spoilt my kidneys . pray for me . My enemies have to be defeated by your prayers . Yesterday I was discharged but the officials of Kenya airways decided not to let me travel because of my condition. So I was brought back to hospital and now I am not allowed to go . I am in this hospital to stay the way I see it.” he added
