The Energy Regulatory Commission on Saturday basis closed down Shell petrol station owned by the son of former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero.

Ronald Odhiambo Kidero was on Friday charges of storing aldulterated petroleum products, which do not meet mandatory standards as set by the Kenya Bureau of Standards.

ERC officials went to the petrol station along Kiambu Road, Nairobi and put a caution measure around indicating there will be no activities there.

Odhiambo however protested the closure saying he will challenge it in court.
