Kenyans have been warned about con men posing as military recruitment officers.
The Vice Chief of the defense forces Lieutenant General Joseph Kasaon gave out the warning while launching the countrywide recruitment exercise in Hurlingam Nairobi.
The exercise will last for a month in various parts of the country and targets women and men who are age between 18-26 years.
The recruitment is aimed at filling limited positions such as Constable, trades men and women who will include Technician and artisans.
“Genuine calling letters will be given by the recruiting officers within the recruitment centers, nowhere else,” he said.
“This year we seek to recruit slightly over 2000 eligible men and women from across the nation reflecting the face of Kenya who will thereafter join the Kenya Army, the Kenya Air force, the Kenya Navy, and the Defense Forces,” said Gen. Kasaon.
The recruitment exercise has begun in Kwale, Busia, Kisumu, Nyeri and Kericho.
