Kenyans urged to eat omena, terere to protect themselves from coronavirus
Kenya has reported 788 more coronavirus cases raising the total to 19,913.
CAS Rashid Aman says that this number comes from a sample of 5,531 persons tested in the past 24 hours.
According to Dr. Aman, 475 of the latest cases are male while 313 are women.
Aman has urged Kenyans to observe a healthy diet full of vitamins to protect themselves from the virus.
He has also asked Kenyans to take frequent small portions of food and a lot of hot and warm fluids.
“Omena, green leafy veges, like, terere, saget kales, sweet pepper tomatoes, onions, pineapples are rich in vitamins,” he said.
“I urge all of us to adopt a healthy lifestyle, avoid smoking and alcohol and engage in physical activities,” he said adding that mild symptoms of the virus can be managed by taking warm fluids and eating nutritious food.
Three of 788 are foreigners while the rest are Kenyan citizens.
100 people have however been discharged in the last 24 hours: eight are from home based care while 92 were discharged from various hospitals.
