Kenya records only 48 new cases of coronavirus
Kenya has today recorded only 48 cases of coronavirus cases, the lowest recorded ever since the numbers hit the highest peak.
Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi says that the 48 cases are from a sample size of 1,081 cases tested in the past 24 hours.
Two people have however died, bringing the total number of Covid-19 deaths to 624.
Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefings, Mwangangi stated that 176 people have recovered in the past 24 hours raising the total tally of people who have recovered to 23,243.
Meanwhile the ministry has established a task-force to look into the issues surrounding the withdrawal of Ksh. 12 billion money meant for malaria, HIV and tuberculosis by the Global Fund.
Reports have emerged that Global Fund stopped Kenya from utilising the fund after an alleged war between the Kenya Red Cross and Amref-Kenya.
