The Kenya Power and Lighting Company has announced that it will shut down the prepaid token system on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
Through a statement, the power company said the access to the system will be temporarily halted on Tuesday 9 April from 11pm to Wednesday 10 April 6pm to allow migration of Data.
“We wish to inform our esteemed customers that the prepaid system will be temporarily from Tuesday 9th April 11:00 pm to Wednesday 11th April 6:00 pm to enable migration of Data to a new hardware for improved service delivery.” Read part of the statement
The firm noted that customers would not be able to purchase tokens through the prepaid paybill number, in the banking halls and any other vending channels.
Consumers have thus been advised to get the tokens earlier in order to avoid any disruptions.
