The players have had no contracts since last September and according to the agreement with Kenya Rugby Union the carrier continues being the team’s official shirt sponsor covering salaries, allowances, insurance and bonuses.
Speaking at the naming of the squad to represent the country in the HSBC Sevens World Series in New Zealand and Australia ,the Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Bukusi, said the sponsorship will either be done before it departs for the third round of the Series in Wellington Sevens or after they return from the fourth leg in Sydney.
Coach Benjamin Ayimba at the KRU headquarters in Ngong Road named 12-man traveling squad to represent in Wellington and Sydney legs on the weekend of January 30-31 and February 6-7.
Captain Andrew Amonde and Humprey Hayange returns to the squad while The head coach handed Nakuru RFC’s Donald Oluoch his debut.
In Wellington Kenya are drawn Pool D with Australia, Canada and Portugal.
The team leaves for New Zealand on Sunday.
