The KCB RFC rugby team came off an emphatic win over their rivals Strathmore Leos on Saturday afternoon at the Strathmore Madaraka grounds.

The bankers out-scored them with a convincing margin of 56-8 at the end of the 80 minutes played.

The bankers were solid in defense as they were in attack with Peter Karia opening the scoring for KCB after some great build up play from the forwards and the back line. Peter Kilonzo added the extra two points.

The first half was all KCB as Strathmore only managed to score a penalty earning them three points at the end of the first half.

The second half seemed to be more thrilling as Strathmore managed to secure a try but they were still no match for the defending champions Darwin Mukidza and Vincent Onyala sealed the game off with two great tries to make it 56-8.

Captain Curtis Lilako of the KCB RFC commented after the game saying, “ I am happy of how we played today.

We started off slow but we were able to pick up in the second half and we were able to get the result that we wanted.”

The bankers seem to be fired up after today’s match and resume training on Tuesday to prepare for their next match against Impala Saracens which will be on the 16th of this month.
