KCB ladies team masterminded one of the most remarkable comebacks in Kenyan volleyball history to storm through to African Club Championship 2019.
The Bankers thumped Kenya Pipeline 3-2 and Bungoma County 3-0 to end the 2018 season with 5 points behind Kenya Prisons. The Bankers return to the continental glory after a 3-year absence.
KCB Group Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Judith Sidi Odhiambo heaped praises on the girls for the historic win.
We are very proud of what the ladies have achieved today, it took a lot of sacrifice, dedication and hard work to be here”, said Judith.
KCB defeated Bungoma 25-18, 25-13 and 25-7the game with pipeline ended 3-2 with sets of 29-27, 19-25, 22-25,25-20 and 15 12 in favour of KCB.
Prisons team edged out Kenya Pipeline from this year’s glory with 3-1 victory of 25-19, 25-22before wining the final set to finish on top of KVF Log during the KCB KVF Play offs staged at Kasarani Gymnasium on 1st – 3rdDecember 2018.
KCB Head Coach David Kinga said it was a glorious moment for the team after their hard work this season.
