KCB ladies jets off to Egypt for African Club Championship

KCB ladies team today 8th March 2019 departed the country for Cairo Egypt for the 2019 African Women Club Championship. The team jetted off at 4am on Friday morning.

KCB Group COO Mr Samuel Makome flanked by KCB Group Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Judith Sidi Odhiambo who is also the ladies team Patron flagged off the team.

“We are delighted to send the team to this year’s continental championship.

KCB ladies have worked exemplary hard to qualify for this championship. I wish them the best of luck in Egypt”,said Makome.

Head coach Japheth Munala has appointed experienced attacker Noel  Murambi to skipper the team in Egypt.

KCB delegation comprises of 14 players and 8 officials. The team will jet back on 27th March 2019 afternoon.

The Bankers qualified for the continental showpiece after finishing second in the national playoffs, last year.

KCB will represent Kenya at the continental event in Egypt alongside Kenya Pipeline and Kenya Prisons.

Al Ahly are the defending champions after beating Carthage of Tunisia in the finals last year in Cairo, Egypt.
