The ruling Jubilee Party has come out to dismiss letter claiming McDonald Mariga is interested in Kibra by-election.
The party’s Secretary-General, Raphael Tuju termed the document as fake and urged Kenyans to ignore any claims made in the doctored letter.
In the letter, Kenyan legendary footballer, McDonald Mariga, was one of the names presented as potential candidates.
The other candidates forwarded by the ruling party in the fake letter were Morris Peter Kinyanjui, Mukinyingi Walter Trenk, Said Ibrahim and Doreen Khayanga Wasike.
Tuju had earlier on announced that the party would indeed field a candidate for the fast-looming Kibra by-election.
The Kibra parliamentary seat fell vacant following the demise of Ken Okoth late in July.
