Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) main campus students took to the streets on Friday to protest the brutal killing one of their colleagues.

Tabitha Muthoni Mwangi, a First Year Student, was allegedly stabbed in the neck during a robbery leading to her death.

The incident is reported to have happened on Thursday night between 7 and 8pm.

The students have decried the bad state of security in the area and are now demanding justice for the late Tabitha.

JKUAT students union boss Ibrahim called on area security forces to hasten the investigations into the matter.

Tabitha’s friend who was with her during the incident, says they were accosted by two thugs who demanded for their valuables.

She added that the thugs stabbed Tabitha after she refused to hand over her phone and other valuables.

She was taken to the university hospital where she was declared dead on arrival ‘due to excessive bleeding’.

The body has since been taken to Kenyatta University Morgue.
