Political drumbeats in Kibra constituency are on.
The death of the former Member of Parliament Ken Okoth and the clamour to succeed him has thrown the constituency into a frenzy.
Kibra, a constituency once represented in parliament by Opposition leader Raila Odinga is known to many as a politically vibrant constituency.
The by election slated for 7th November has so far attracted 23 candidates ranging from footballers to engineers to musicians.
Some politicians allied to the ODM Party have described Kibra as the bedroom of opposition leader Raila Odinga, a statement meant to imply that the seat should not be taken by someone else except a candidate from ODM.
But as the the 23 candidates are battling for the seat, the constituents are apparently more interested in the goodies they have to offer.
This is to an extent that an anthem for the by election dubbed Kula Kwa Mariga Kura Kwa Imran has been composed.
Even as the anthems gain tract, the number of disasters that have struck the place have even attracted more attention with different politicians streaming in to give their donations.
One Picture that has particularly captured the eyes of social media detectives is that of one woman receiving goodies from different politicians.
Same headscarf but in different clothes, the woman is pictured receiving donations from ANC candidate Eliud Owalo, ODM’s Imran Okoth who was accompanied by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Suna East MP Junnet Mohamed.
Another picture that has captured the eyes of hawk eyed Kenyans is the photo of a young man pictured with Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga and Deputy President William.
The clock is ticking towards 7th November, the drumbeats will go quiet after the by election and the person who will clinch the seat will only be known after time.
